SUPER8 housing

The brief for this competition organized by the BNA (Institute of Dutch Architects) was to design 14 apartments on a restricted site in the city of Gorinchem. To benefit from its location we designed the apartments in quadrants unlike most other competition entries. The strict requirements for the carpark made us design a very special connection between the building and its surrounding public space.

Jury report:
SUPER8 has the potential of being an icon. The clear and dominant shape has sufficient strength to counterpart the large scale developments along the canal. The wonderful entrance connects well to the surrounding and the parking is well solved. The use of space overall is very efficient. The generous balconies provide a sense of luxury.
