Abstract sculpture by Karel Appel (1921-2006) above the entrance of the School for Graphic Design (Grafisch Lyceum). The school was designed by architect Maaskant in 1970 in Rotterdam. From 1945 until 1970 it was very common to incorporate these type of wall sculptures in building designs. Many of these are badly documented and endangered by demolition or have already been demolished. The government encourages people to document these artworks themselves on a special website: http://www.helpwandkunstopsporen.nl/
