Yellowstone

Recently I saw a BBC documentary about Yellowstone National Park. It reminded me of the amazingly colored hot pools I saw there. According to the BBC the colors are caused by differences in water temperature. The temperature gradients attract different species of microbes each with its own distinct colors.
