A while ago I got these vintage Pagholz Chairs (or Thur-op-seat) to fit with my yellow showroom model of the VOLT table. They are widely used in schools and come with a variety of bases. This particular base type ensures both the option of stacking the chairs as well as for row arrangements just like the Eames’ DSS chairs. However these bases are ingeniously made of U-shaped steel, the left side of the chair wider than the right side. So the legs of one chair nest within the legs of the adjacent one. The shells are made of plywood.
